So unless you want a rear or mid engine vehicle, you might run into trouble. If you go rear engine, you would need to bunge together a driveshaft to an identicle tranny in the front, but you do have a problem relieving stresses from one tranny being slightly out of sync with the other, especially in turns.
You might of course want to use a transfer case and transmission from another vehicle and turn the Saab engine around by 180 or by 90 degrees, depending on the tranny used. Once you turn the engine, you need to worry about clockwise/counterclockwise compatability.
You could try to bunge up a driver to the harmonic balancer side, but you would need to turn the balancer to the other end and I am not sure the rear seals were desingned to handle loading from the butt end.
The other alternative is use an entire power train from another brand of vehicle, but that eliminates the Saab engine, so what would be the point?
