I've noticed people here using up to 20BTDC. I dabbled with his in the past but was quite disappointed actually.
I've played with timing setting for quite a while, and I've actually settled for 17BTDC. With the proper base boost setting, less restrictive air intake (sealed the wheel well), free flow of air over the IC (noAC in my 9000T), MSD BTM, and a big down pipe, I have very little lag and the acceleration is actually a bit perkier than at 20BTDC. jUst my observations. It runs far smoother as well, and maybe taht has somthing to do with it.
Another note about the sudden onslaught of boost...I'll keep my base boost at 5.5psi thank you, I value my (second) transmission;-) I guess I could use a bleeder like John Visconti to raise the BB to 10psi...but I can't afford to toss a $5 bill in hte ashtray every time I accelerate..it's doing enough damage as it stands now;-)
