Dr. jacobs the PHD that developed some of the first electronic ignition systems for the big3 here in the US
he believes that using a softer plug is good for performance because more molicules are torn from the center electrode per spark which then colide with more fuel molicules starting the combustion proscess better
I read this in the mid to late 80s
I have a question which I asked before which never realy got answered I thought the ES would be better because the center electrode is bigger & would be less likeley to get hot enough to start combustion on its own (pre ignition)
I dont know if this is rite or not but it makes sense to me
