Jak!,
Hope all's well with you!
With the NGK spark plug designations the "S" determines that the plug uses a "Standard" electrode (typically 2.5mm)but the # (2-11) will indicate the heat rating. 2 is NGK hottest plug as compared to their coldest which is an 11. Usually, we find the best heat range for street performance SAABs to be between 6-7. Using a 5 heat range is typically asking for detonation and running an 8 series will bring about plug fouling. The "S" plug, having the 2.5mm standard electrode will provide a broader landing for spark progression over the fine (1mm) gold palladium (V) type plugs.
We see a lot of paperwork on spark plugs and have tested countless variations; Silver electrode, Platinum, V type, Nickel electrode, etc. but have yet to find a better performing plug than the 6ES plugs for most non-DI equipped performance SAAB turbo. They require more servicing (re-gap) than the EV but are a great performer and very inexpensive.
Best of luck to you and best regards!,
