lots and lots of stories. One fond memory of "I cannot believe we survived" fame was with our local junior A hockey team in Manitoba. In the mid 90's we made it to the national championships. OUr team had the 'brilliant' idea of renting a plane instead of buss-ing it to Kamloops BC, which is clear across country, and over the rocky moutains in the winter.
the brilliant idea ended up to be a Douglas DC-3 (aka C47), in the nasty canadian winter, avec grumpy old chain smoking half cut AME. Well, it was an experience and we all survived. THe heat hardly worked. Even though it was converted to civilian trasport, it was cold, smelly and noisy.
Everything was done backwoods there, and that was almost the mid 1990's! I think they should have retired that plane by then....hell my great uncle flew the Burma hump with the RCAF in a C-47. can we say old?
as I said, lotsa sories......now back to saabs;-)
