In my '71 I use 10w30 Mobil 1 and a new filter every spring. I don't put many miles on my Sonett any more, so the oil still looks new when I have it changed at my local shop. The only way to get at the filter is from the top. It can be messy, so be prepared to clean up spilled oil.
I haven't changed the trans oil in a long time. It seems to me that the SAAB recommendation was to use 90w gear oil. I'll have to consider this in a month or so. In Michigan, cars don't come out of hibernation until late April.
