Thanks for the tip on how to go about catching the oil below the filter when removing it. (I was not looking forward to that step when first looking at the filter location.)
I have seen several people mention the trans dipstick from Chip so I will have to look into that.
Not sure what you meant about ZDDP "overloading the detergent package in the M1". ZDDP is not a detergent, but a zinc additive to bring the zing level in the oil up to what it used to be in oils before they dropped the levels on newer cars with catalytic converters. (Some racing oils still have the higher ZDDP levels, but they are about twice as expensive as M1.)
