Ok. So good news is. It was the Pertronix ignitor. I swapped it out with a new 1847V and it started right up.
I also planned to replace my 1.5 Ohm Flame Thrower coil with a 3 Ohm version but when I was connecting the wires, the positive stud on the coil sheared off! Not enough thread left to connect anything. I promise, I did not over torque it. OK, to be accurate, I must have over torqued it, but it had the strength of a Q-Tip. It just looks like cheap metal to me. I have an email into Pertronix on it.
Good news is, I used the old coil, and it runs just fine. even though I don't have a ballast resistor in the circuit.
Interestingly, the Ignitor instructions say to use a 3 Ohm on a 4-cyl standard set up and a 1.5 Ohm on a racing setup with that ignitor. When I bought the car from Bud Clark, he said he had tuned it for racing gas, so maybe that's why he used a 1.5?
Anyway, I'm back in the game. Big thanks again for all the help from you guys. Very much appreciated!
