For those of us lucky enough not to have seen this problem yet, it appears to be only a matter of time.
I can't find any consensus here on how to deal with the problem when it first crops up. Some say disconnect of main battery and/or fuse 14 will stop the blaring in the middle of the night that's pissing off your neighbors - others say no, you're screwed until it decides to go off of its own will. How are we to prepare for the inevitable? Can we expect SID warning messages in advance of more dramatic failures?
