But it isn't that hard.
BTW - the only difference between the wood and the carbon fiber trim is the material on the face. Both are the same plastic underneath, and one os no more brittle than the other.
Start by taking the ACC unit out, then popping the seat heat/vent switches out and disconnecting the wires. Push the wires back through. THen push out the little pocket, and undo the two TORX screws holding the trim in place.
The key to not leaving marks is to NOT use any metal objects like screwdrivers for the prying. Harbor Freight (and others) sell kits of plastic trim tools in several shapes for under $10. A very worthwhile investment.
now, remove the trim ring from around the shifter face plate. Best tool for this is a plastic trim tool that is wide (about 2"/5cm). After that is out, take the wide trim tool to the REAR edge of the trim panel, and wedge it in there carefully, and lift the back of the trim panel up. With a little fiddling, it will clear the shifter as you rotate the back edge up. You'll have to disconnect the lock switch and cigarette lighter as you lift it up, and you may need to move the shifter to clear it.
