Before I bought an Aero, I rented a Maxima for a one way trip between Minneapolis and Chicago via Makato MN and Ames, Iowa. The Maxima was a fun car to drive and the V-6 is as good or better than the Saab HOT4. However, the chassis is nowhere near as competetant as the Saab's, and the interior is several generations behind as well. If you can get an 02 Aero for the price quoted, I would jump on it. It is just an overall better vehicle, especially on long trips. Also, remember that this is the last year for the Maxima. The next generation model has already been seen in spy shots (it looks like a big Altima with a bit of new Accord thrown in).
