Why buy a Saab 900?
- I bought my '84 five years ago for $2000 with 165,000 miles on it, and today she is inching toward 240,000 with a good engine, no rust and no sign of stopping.
- The Saab community is full of really cool people - people who drive them, people who fix them. My mechanic is so smart he could do anything he wanted. He has his own shop fixing only classic 900s.
- I was at a gas station this summer and this guy drives up in a brand-new BMW 740i and said to me, "I LOVE your car ... I sold my old 900 when it had 290,000 miles and it was still running great!"
- My Saab moved me around the country four times already and is about to move me for the fifth time. She's been over Wyoming mountain passes in mid-December packed with stuff and never faltered.
- It costs me only $400 a year to insure this baby!
- Anything you can't fit a Saab you don't really need (that includes ex-boyfriends and girlfriends!)
- You get attached to a Saab like you would a pet or a best friend, and you will do anything to keep it happy. I thought about buying a new SUV this winter but instead I'm going to get the muffler fixed finally and stick by my old friend a few years more. She has stuck by ME for five years and never let me down!
- One other thing -- this is bizarre but when there is something wrong with my car, I get sick too. When I am sick, something isn't right with her. When I recover, so does she. Weird.
