Well, heres the setup so you can decide what was catually happening.
Fitting at valve cover, four inch vacuum line, T fitting with vacuum/boost guage, check valve line going to manifold.
So the guage may have just been reading the boost pressure in the vacuum line before it had a chance to dump into the cam area.
One thing to note is that with the check valve turned toward the valve cover, my stalling on start was back which I completely didn't understand, but I have my idle bleed screw turned all the way in so having the check valve turned toward the manifold seems to act like a bleed valve taking air from the intake duct which causes more flow through the AMM. I'm letting the car cool completely before buying off on that though. I'f my stalling is back I'll be pissed because its been two days of perfection in that area.
