I'm guessing it's not a turbo. If it's another 2.1L, check the link I've included to Townsend's site (at the bottom of the page, there are links to more info - his cooling system diatribe is worth reading). That will educate you re the 2.1L - really important that they got the correct headgasket early in life. Ours didn't has been remachined twice now, but still works pretty well. 2.0L is better imho.

wrt rust, fenders are prone to it (starts in under the trim strips), and door inside bottom edge (dirt/water collects under the rubber trim). Also look under the car for rust. Control arm mounting points are sometimes issues in older cars (safety issue). If/when you get one, get it oil sprayed every year to keep rust under control. Look for paint overspray to potentially catch any repainted areas. Faded roof can be brought back with some elbow grease, probably original paint, so that's good...

sunroof might just be a bad switch - if so, you can pop the cover + clean contacts for free yourself... does it leak?

Ignore the radio - if you care, buy a new one later. Honestly, the condition of the interior (and leather etc) is more valuable than the radio... radio is easy to change.

If at all possible, get records + a prepurchase inspection from a Saab indy. Search this board for more info...
