To put it in perspective, we starting up a steep hill from a dead stop with the A/C on and the two of us in the car. My pudginess was a bit of a detriment to acceleration. Had to slip the clutch a bit in 1st to let the RPMs rise up to near 3k and get a little boost going. Once we got that going, the boost gauge and tach went up to "Yee haw!"
Dang, that car just wants to keep accelerating. My 'original '88 SPG was that way, too. My '89 .... not so much. It wasn't so much hitting the cutoff as that gap in acceleration when shifting - the hill wanted to pull us back.
That's a darned nice SPG.
