Not really much in the way of electronics in it - just two mircoswitches. I'll have to cut one open to see what's what one of these days.
I'm puzzled ...
Just for the heck of it, check the voltage between pins 1 & 2 and 2 & 3 on the TPS connector. With the car running you should see 12 volts between 1 & 2 and 12 volts between 2 & 3. Pin 2 should show continuity to ground. If you have a Bentley handy, it's item 203 on page 371-63.
The reason I bring this up is sometimes one of the leads will break inside the connector boot, between the connector and the wire loom. I once spent a couple of days tracing an idle issue (including swapping out the ECU) only to look at one of the connectors to see a rogue wire sticking out.
