... it may be your burner...
try using as CD burned by someone hwo spent big bucks on their burner.
... it may be your media
try using media that someone else claims is better.
it may be the CD player itself. My 97 H/K system is finnikey on burned disks too, and a disk that played well at the beginning of its life is now getting worse and worse. Many other do the same. I tried copying a burned CD in a friends disk duplicator and never have problems with that disk, but do with the orginal burned disk.
