I have a feeling it may be the media. Certain brands seem to fare better than others. I've upgraded my burner from a TDK {awful} to a new LG with better results on a wider variety of players.
Bob - as I mentioned, the player works great with store-bought CDs, so I don't think it's the player (I hope not). Maybe the lens does need cleaning which I'll look into.
What length are the Verbatim CD-Rs? Again, as I said, the player has an awful time with 80 min. length CD-Rs. The 80 min CD-Rs I've tried are Optimum and PNY Dlack Diamond, Optimum being the worst, Black diamond being a little better. The 74 min CD-Rs I've tried are HI-VAL (O.K. results), Maxell (NG), & TDK {the best of the bunch so far). Do you think the player would react better to a higher quality 80 min.? I've heard some players just won't play 80 min CD-Rs but will 74s. We don't have any Sam's Clubs around here. Have you found the Verbatims any where else for a good price (online?)? I've heard that they're very good, too.
Thanks again for your response.
