Yeah, many 9000 have this problem. A cheap out of sight part that kills more expensive parts.
You have either a clogged piece of hose (if you're lucky) or a clogged rollover valve (not so lucky). The valve probably can be checked by connecting hose to it and sucking/blowing air through it. Air won't move if the valve is clogged.
The engine should benefit if the valve is still working and you replace the hose.
