Any conventional modern oil will cover the manufactures' backsides as far as warrantee's goes. I stand by my comments that you can't say that the fact that an oil is shipped in the crank is not indicative that it is the best product for your vehicle. Marketing is an issue. Other than that I can't see what your rant is about.
I change my oil 4 times per year, not every 3K.
Saab does not have a oil change spec for dyno oil in the trany either. Has that changed?
I am not saying that the factory oil in the crank is not a capable product. It is not neccessary the best, and not neccessary the best that one that the manufacturer tested or evaluated. A automotive manufacturer's endorsement of an oil is a marketing agreement.
