Having owned a '87 and 8'' 9000 and a '91 9000 Aero, a '80 C900 turbo, '88 900 S a '95 900 T, '97 900, a '00 9-3 and a '03 9-3 SS and read virtually every magazine road test of these cars and those of the 9-5 I can tell you that world opinion would say the 9-5 outhandles the 9000 and the 9-3 SS outhandles the 9-5. Hands down, even with all the Abbott handling mods you can buy. 4 wheel independent suspension beats beam axle any day. The C900 did a good job of making a good showing for itself since its front suspension was A arms, not struts. But the strut and beam 9000 was always the 'limo' of any road test I've read. Great in a straight line, marginal in the twisties. Of course I've olny driven Saabs for 23 years for a total of 1.3 million miles, so what do I know ;-)
