If you are saying that the 9000 is more protective against bonehead moves, that may be true. Can't vouch for it since I've never had track time in a 9-5. But in R&T the '93 9000 Aero had a slalom speed of 60.6 mph while the 9-5 Aero did 63.3 mph. That's a pretty significant advantage for the 9-5. Track lapping times for both cars in C&D comparison tests also show a big advantage for the 9-5.
Of course the 9-3 SS kicks both their a$$e$. That's just the evolution of the cars we love so much. The next 9-5 will be better yet and so on...
