Montero is a good choice. My grandparents have a 95 with almost 100k miles. they drive it from florida to their cabin in NC at least 2 times a year. I took it mudding and it kept up with a purpuse built dodge ram 4x4 with over-sized tires (Don't tell my grandma!). go for the "SR" it has a more powerful engine and a wider wheel base than the other models. Just make sure that any re-calls have been taken care of (i.e. one of the welds that hold the rear axle togeather was a common fault, and a re-call has been issued by mitsubishi).
