I am not going to debate which drives better. Here's the story --
My friend's wife is pregnant (first time) with twins so they are thinking it's time for a new car before they get here in a month. She currently has a 2000 jetta GLS with 100k on the clock. When they first got the car it was troublesome but eventually got the kinks worked out. Now that kids are coming he wants her to have something a tad bigger, that's not going to strand her/kids, and AWD. He really likes Outbacks but because of the forth-coming kids can't really spend more than $15k. BTW, my dad has an 04 Outback that he fell in love with and that's what started this all.
He's been looking at 2002-2004 outbacks, I've been keeping my eyes open for a cheaper 2005.
