Hello,
I have never seen a problem with not performing the remove function before removing any of the control modules. After you physically install the new to this car abs/tcs control module go to the add menu and perform the add function. I just did this on a car the other day and it did not even ask for the security access so that was nice.
On the other hand that is a fair temperature this time of the year. It's about freezing here today and last weekend I was talking to a guy from Saskatchewan at a restaurant here in Pittsburgh and he was saying it was -30C at home. That was our warm day last week it was 10F. Good Luck, Bernie
