Hi, I have a 2006 4cyl automatic 2.0T Saab, 274 500km
Wanted to change my belt and my tensioner and after reading some post, I tried to do it from under the engine.
With proper tools I was able to remove the old belt and undo the tensioner bolt.
But since the bolt is pretty long I couldn't remove it from the tensioner. I removed the crankshaft pulley at the same time.
So, tried all angles to try to remove the tensioner without luck.
I read that some people removed the right engine mount and lifted the engine 1/2 in to get the bolt out.
I don't see how 1/2 in is enough as the frame in front of the tensioner is flat.
What bolts should I remove from the mount? The three Torx on the engine side or the three nuts on the chassis?
Once done should I lift the engine or try to push it sideway toward the driver side to have more clearance?
I had to put the old tensioner back but at least there's a new belt.
btw when removing the crankshaft pulley I could see an oil leak. I also saw the crankshaft gasket and it seems that I could take it off with my fingers, is it really that easy? Is there another seal deeper inside that hole?
Sorry, a lot of questions but I know I can count on you for the best advice.
Thanks!
Michel
