Odd clock setting behavior

2004 9-3 Aero Convertible, about 75,000 miles. I’ve only had this two years so I don’t know what to make of this. When I have to set the clock and date it can get tricky. As I turn the adjustment knob, say for year, it might increment by one year or it might jump 50 years or more. The same for the date and clock. I have to turn the knob very carefully, which seems to help, but even then it will suddenly jump to some number unexpectedly. I can always eventually get it adjusted, but it might take five minutes rather than one. I don’t drive this car a lot so periodically I have to disconnect the battery to charge it. Then it’s back to the clock roulette game. Do you think this could be a problem with the electronics in that switch assembly, which includes the roof operation? Otherwise everything works well and the clock keeps good time. Thanks for your help.
