There is one major difference between
the Aero and the 2.7T we tend to forget.

The Aero compensates for altitude, the 2.7T
does not. ( like older Saab's without the T7 )

Could very well be that they were racing each other
at some altitude in excees of 3000 feet where the
Aero would certainly have the advantage.

And if the A6 2.7T was an Automatic and the Aero a
5spd, then the difference was a mere 10Hp as the Aero 5spd
has 240Hp in Overboost.

In the last case, the Aero would certainly pull away from
a A6 2.7T Automatic.

Btw, in 3rd gear and above my Aero pulls away from the
A6 4.2 and A8 4.2 in a rather quick manner at altitude.
I verified this again this weekend, and boy the A8 driver
was furious :)
