Most German cars are limited to 250 kph. The exception being Porsche, who still have "unlimited" cars (a friend of mine actually floored a new 996 Turbo to 302 kph...). Tires do have to be "rated" at the vehicles top speed according to EU law, so a 250 kph car has to have Z-rated tires.
Volvo are limiting their "lesser" models of V70, S60 and S80 to 210 kph, most probably to save on tire costs to keep retail price down.
What most people don't know is that the 9000 Aero has a computer governed top speed of 240 kph. I'm not sure how fast it will go without it, but it IS limited.
Audi guys can say all they want about the 2,7T, but isn't it in truth a bit pitiful that a 2,7 litre V6 with twin turbochargers and AWD isn't faster than (in their eyes) a measly FWD inline 4 with one turbocharger... It does say a lot about the T7 engine management system... Also, try a 2,7T head to head with a 9-5 Aero at high altitude... You'll think the Audi guy hasn't figured out which way to turn the key...
All IMHO...

P.S Throw an S4 my way, and I'll kick some Audi butt... D.S
