A Saab 9-5 Aero might catch a 540i WAGON AUTOMATIC. Maybe. But according to any mags I've read, the 9-5 Aero will not beat 0-60 in 6.3 seconds, which is the 540i wagon automatic's time. Or was it 5.9? The manual sedan is more like 5.4 or 5.5 sec. Anyway, um, no.

The 9-5 Aero wagon is my dream car, but there is no use in these misleading comparisons.

As for the altitude comparisons, all turbo cars compensate for altitude to a greater or lesser degree. I am not comfortable with the presumption that Saabs will necessarily turn a race defeat into a victory at altitude against another turbocharged car, such as the 225 TT, 2.7T, F40 or what have you. But then maybe you're right, and at altitude the Aero is the fastest street-legal car on the planet. Why don't you call Guinness, I'm sure they would love to hear about it.
