I did the other Aero Wagon. This time I did not get off the jacks and drive around, but did all three drain and fills on the jacks. Same as one would expect, but a lot faster.

When you do this, the wheels will turn. When you are draining, the wheels are not turning. With the front wheels turning after filling, the ABS system gets confused and there can be ABS and/or ESP warning lights. I read that one should turn off the ESP when doing that, but I still got the warning lights. Does not show as a code on a basic scanner. And it comes on after a shutdown and when powering up on a systems check. As soon as you get tires on the road and drive forward 20 feet, the system will see that the front and rear wheel speed sensors are singing the same song and the warning lights go off.

When you run the engine during a drain, the wheels will not turn if in drive [and there is no load on the gear train].

When I did the first drain from factory level, I got 4q, 20oz. [I used 12 q 14oz in the first vehicle]. I put 20 ounces of fluid into one container and put that aside, then did drain and fills, except that when I did the final fill, I put in 4q 20oz. I have yet to get the trany hot enough to check if my fill is correct.
