The $6k is over two and a half years. I know I should try to just drive it and make up for what I've put into it but I would absolutely hate if I were saving money not putting anything into this one and have something big crap out and be forced to fix it. Next to fail (all still original) are A/C compressor, alternator, oil cooler, fuel pump, thermostat; one of the serp pulleys is making a god-awful noise and I'm afraid it may be the crankshaft pulley. God only knows how much that would cost to replace. From what people say about the 2004+ 9-5's it sounds like you just change the oil, brakes, tires when you need to and drive it forever. It seems like I hear a lot about alternator failure on them though. I found an '04 Arc sedan, steel gray metallic with a 5-spd (mmm) with 30k miles for $11,900. It's a damn sharp looking car.
