Is your car a daily driver? Local? Long trips? Any newer cars in the family? These considerations should affect your decision.
My .02 is that you should plan to hang on to your present car, with only basic upkeep, for at least a year. Cars are depreciating assets and the one you have has already depreciated.
Yes, you could get a deal on an '04 or '05, but if GM goes bankrupt depreciation of GM cars in general and Saabs in particular could increase dramatically.
Even if you'd find an '05 cpo, should GM go bankrupt, will you be able to depend on the warranty?
If GM files bankruptcy or folds Saab, owners who are handy with a wrench could get a great deal on a late model Saab. Those of us who are mechanically challenged will have to look elsewhere with a heavy heart.
