It's my daily driver. I live off campus from University of Connecticut and commute about 5 miles each way. I also drive home on the weekends every once in a while and that's about 40 miles. Then over the summer I drive it to upstate NY, about 250 miles one way, a few times to my grandfather/family's lake house. I'd like to be able to have a comfortable car I can rely on for work a little too. Last summer we did a few drives to an architectural testing facility in PA (about 6.5 hours) and my car was ruled out because no one trusted it. My poor butt had to ride in a Prius the whole time. I'm not worried about GM going belly-up affecting my purchase, as a CPO car from a dealership is out of my price range. There are a few 2004 Arcs and Aero's around with less than 50k miles for less than $13k that really have my eye. Driving my car around a bit tonight it's not that I don't enjoy driving it and don't like it, I just want a "real" car that I can depend on. I bought this car (myself - I'm not some dumb brat my parents bought it for) when I was 16 to start off, driving back and forth to High School and work and home (all within 5 miles), knowing it probably wouldn't last forever with the miles. Now that I rely on my car a little more, I think it's time.
