Left side dash controls question

I am new to 9-5's, but a long time Saab owner and am currently looking at an '05 Aero wagon. There are several accessory covers/switch covers missing on the left side of the dash. Can someone tell me what controls/switches/accessories would normally be found on the left side of the dash?

Also on the right side of the wheel, there were 2 blank switch covers. I thought the Aero would be fully accessorized so I am wondering what all of these blank spots would be for.
