Front Brakes Done!! Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Wed, 20 May 2009 15:12:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Long day taking my sweet a$$ time replacing my front brakes today, but it's all back together and I am very pleased. Everything went smoothly except for the little Torx E-20 buggers on the backs of the caliper carriers. Idiot me assumed if I had all the tools to do the brakes on my '01 I'd be golden for the '04. Nope. I called three hardware/automotive stores and they only had up to E-16's. I then hesitantly called my Saab/Volvo independent shop 5 min down the road and asked very politely if I could borrow theirs... "No problem, we're not using it this afternoon" (That's Collinsville Motorcars - Canton CT - 860.693.4993 - Can't express in words how amazing this shop is; if you're in the area and need anything done to a Saab or Volvo these are your guys). I was probably their best customer when I had my '01, haha. Anyway the Akebono pads and Brembo rotors look great. I haven't driven them hard but they seem to be breaking in nicely.
