96 board feet isn't really a lot of wood. Why didn't you put the wood on the roof with the ladder, and put the vac and other stuff inside? But no question... A 9-5 wagon can haul a lot of stuff, much like my 9K.
I love the looks I get at HD when my 9-5 wagon or my 9K swallows huge loads that other people put in trucks or struggle to fit into a normal trunk. I just did the annual mulch & manure load a few weeks back. The guy parked next to me in some big honkin' PU truck looked at me with scorn as I rolled out the cart with a dozen or so bags of mulch and cow manure. He had the same load for his truck. I popped the hatch, tossed the stuff in and drove away. <Grin>
Or for more fun, buy a utility trailer and bring home a couple yards of bark mulch, or half a cord of firewood, or 30-40 bags of insulation (you can get 12-15 inside the car!), or a load of plywood and framing lumber.
And just you wait.... You won't believe how expensive home ownership can get to be. But it's all good in the long run.
