Karp sucks like most of the NY area dealers. Karp in particular has had the highest turnover of service staff which is suspicious. I know a long time Saab service writer that claims all his customers that end up at Karp for whatever reason get treated poorly. Karp declined thousands in warranty work which went to other dealers.
This is the only dealer on Long Island that I know of that won’t let someone under 21 test drive, even if they are there with someone over 21. It isn’t like they are selling Ferraris. I don’t understand how they expect to sell cars. They also rarely have even one 9-5 wagon and sometimes no 9-5s at all in stock (they might now that Garden City Saab is gone).
Just today I had warranty (1 year/12K) on warranty work done at another dealer. Karp did the original work, but declined to replace the alarm siren again. Ironically, the owner says he wouldn’t turn away business or GM paid for warranty work. His staff couldn’t be running the dealership any differently from what he claims is the way to do business if they tried.
