So my independent Saab mechanic came out to the waiting room today and did not say anything to me - he just made a punting motion. I took my 99 9-5 V6 with 126,000 in today because of the check engine light / check gear box light combo. Apparently the transmission items associated with that issue take second place to the oil mixing in the coolant issue. Just to top it off he noticed the turbo smoking too. I'm basically going to drive it until it stops - I don't know how long that will be.

I've done everything possible to maintain this car because I wanted to keep it another 2-3 years. I've changed the oil every 3000 and even replaced the worn out Saab emblem on the hood. Even with the tensioner failing at 70,000 (that was when Saab only changed the timing belt and the tensioner issue was new), no pixels, no more keyless entry, 2 DICs, 2 water pumps, and other assorted things - I still liked my car. It is now time to move on. I have no idea what I'll get next but I'm afraid my Saab days are over. Any ideas on the best way to "sell" a car in my condition?

I really liked the uniqueness of the Saab and now I'm afraid I'll be in a Camry. Dare I try a 2006 Jetta TDI or do you think that is just another train wreck? Right now I'm leaning towards a 2005 Acura TSX.
I welcome your thoughts - the folks on this board have been very helpful to me over the years. Take Care.
