OK, someday SAAB might learn how to build cars - someday? I've got a 2002 V6 that's had lots of CPO repairs. Been fine for the past year, however, since I started doing everything myself.
I would stay away from VW/Audi. Horror stories with the brand. My neighbor's have a 2.0 Audi that burns oil like crazy at 20K miles. VW says it's normal. Google it and I guess it is - but not right. They won't help them at all! Just a year old car they bought it new!
It all depends what you are looking for in a car? Transportation, get a low-end Hyundai or KIA. Reliability with a quality build - Toyota/Lexus. Great car but not as refined as Toyota - Acura/Honda. I've driven just about everything and noticed Honda's have lots of road noise than Toyota brands.
A car that handles like it's on rails, get 28MPG on the highway, and will blow the doors off of many cars out there - A Corvette! You can get a 5 year old C5 Corvette with super low miles for half or what it was new or less!
We drove a Ford Fusion V6 and liked it a lot. Pretty good looking American car that can be serviced anywhere. Try to get a SAAB serviced in North Dakota! We have family there and won't drive my SAAB out that way in fear of a failure. Can you imagine a 700 mile towing bill? Even AAA won't cover that.
It's all just mt opinion... :-)
