I hooked my Samsung phone up to my stereo with no problem. A couple of months ago, I posted the story on this board:
http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=886
I use it all the time and I love it. It is especially nice because I have a 5-speed and it used to take three hands to drive and talk. The only consequence with the new system is that my usage had doubled. The fact that I have to hit a button to switch modes on the stereo is no big deal at all.
If your Motorola has a headphone jack on it, and I know some of them do, you can copy my directions almost exactly. The only thing you won't be connecting is the trigger button, because your phone doesn't have voice dial. You might try experimenting, though, because such a trigger button may allow you to at least answer a ringing phone by pushing a button in the car, rather than fumbling with the phone.
The other thing you need to do is switch the microphone from high impedance to low, or is it the other way around? Either way, you will have to switch it so that people can hear you. Also, make sure the voice volume on your phone is turned up all the way.
Enjoy!
-Chris
