Thanks, Larry, for answering.
Sounds like, then, you're suggesting that they never married the radio, using the Tech 2. Except, the Shop Mngr says that if it isn't saying Code Needed, or some such, then it doesn't need to be married. What's that deal with that?
If I wasn't clear, the Twice -was- Replaced, due to flooding. The things you mentioned [errant sirening and all] preceded the shorted battery and etc. I posted because post-replacement therapy needed.
MUST the radio be married to the NEW Twice? I don't believe the Shop Foreman's claim otherwise, but then I am suspicious for a variety of reasons of their explanations. He says one can replace Twices all day and never deal with the radio. True?
Honking, along with the missing radio, implies that the Tech removed and replaced the Twice, but didn't know to marry the Horn and Radio. Bad sign that on skill set?
Still curious what would bring on Service Theft Alarm message, after a Twice replacement.
What else might make the Radio not work, if it's not a marrying issue, after a Twice replacement? Or: Remember, it worked, on and off, before driving up, but then stopped now/then, with a radio locked [?] message, and then quit working? Is there a single fuse, I wonder, for the radio...? If not a fuse, what else? The Service Mngr talked about a code, as did the Shop Foreman -- what's with that...?
What theft sensors are low enough, like the Twice, to get fried by water or dampness in the carpet, low.
By the way, I disassembled the twice.... Its not sealed. Its in a snap-closed plastic enclosure, but easily doused by water, or excessive humidity from wet carpet overlaying it.
On examining, I noticed that the in line connector prongs had a little copper-blue corrosion that wiped off. I wonder if the car's female connector was checked by the Tech....
Thanks, in advance to Larry or anyone else who can fill out my education from this or the original post.
