I just got out of my 2001 Aero after driving 240 miles today from the Sierras down to LA. 32.8MPG and had the cruised control set at 70 or 75 most of the time. 5000 and 4000 foot desert and lots of hills towards the end. as a matter of fact I was at 34.5 MPG for the first 175 miles.
It is a great highway cruiser. Mine turned 156,000 miles on this trip. I have owned it since new and have done all the normal maintenance things.
Our other Saab is a 95 Aero automatic 2003 which is my wife's car. We are 4th owner on that car, but have all records and we even had some CPO left when we bought it. Now has 120,000 miles and we bought it at 80. Terrific car as well.
The 95 Aero is a classic, and I am convinced it will go down in history as such. Buy a good one now and keep it forever.
