Sounds to me like the sender. You could remove the pump assembly and try to clean up the contacts, or do it once and replace the pump assembly. How many miles? My fuel pump life survey showed a reasonable probability of pump failure any time after 130,000 miles, with some failures down in the 80,000 mile range. If you're getting into that range, replacing the assembly is the way to go.
