You can buy a new alternator but it's quite pricey and may be hard to get - usually available are only rebuild ones, especially for older cars like those. Some companies sell repair kits (usually bearings + regulator), but usually you buy single parts as replacement range is individual to the particular part. I've make a summary in other post in this topic.
Voltage regulator with brushes is a replaceable part of an alternator:
