I have three out of four 9-5s that don’t get driven as much as they should to keep the batteries well charged, especially in cold weather. I have a good quality automatic charger/ jump starter that I hook up every two weeks or so. It usually takes less than two hours per car for a full charge so it’s not too time consuming. I use NAPA batteries and they usually last five or six years if I’m diligent about keeping them charged. If I let a battery go dead I’ll be lucky to get two years but I can get a discount on a new one then. I hate to ruin a good battery as battery manufacturing is a relatively polluting business, but they should be complimented for their high recycling rate. I just replaced one that was dated seven years ago so that was excellent service.
