Infrequently, when we come to a stop, the car stumbles. Sometimes the Tachometer drops to around 200 RPM indicated and then the RPM recovers. Other times it stumbles below an RPM that it cannot recover from and dies. I would think it's an "Idle Speed Controller issue" or (Air bypass). Not certain how SAAB regulates the idle speed? Car is only 21 years old and 174K town miles. Best car we've ever owned. Have owned 25 cars in my driving career.
BTW, our emission tests here, they just plug into the OBDII port looking for everything being in a "Ready" state. I asked them politely to shove the probe in the exhaust pipe so reluctantly, they did. The readings came back 0.00 and 0.00. They said I have exhaust dilution so they plugged the muffler exhaust pipe and no leaks noted. They said they rarely see an engine that they cannot get a reading from. I don't know if this is normal for a SAAB? Also, the muffler outlets on my 2002 SAAB have no residue. In fact, the inside of the muffler exhaust pipes are slightly rusted. No Black residue at all. Never noted any oil burning.
