Leave it to a reputable A/C shop to diagnose if you aren’t knowledgeable. Anything can go wrong with 20 yr old system. My 2004 9-5 Arc compressor went out and my efforts to replace all components using a re-built compressor did not work out and I took to my regular shop who said the re-built compressor was defective. Beyond seemingly working thereafter with a new compressor, now I’m replacing the recirculating motor that opens and closes the outside air intake for the heater/A/C box. Luckily the driver and passenger side air flaps, servo motors and linkages seem unbroken and correctly shift from hot/cold as desired.
All said, this dangerous heat wave will be challenging my A/C.
