Good point.
When this first surfaced I cleaned the connector and put some Stabilant 22 on the socket pins in the connector. That cured the problem for about a week.
Based on this I may try CAREFULLY applying some conductive silver paste on the socket pins in the connector. I've fixed an errant Volvo relay that way once. It was on a 740 wagon and was the one that controlled power to the injectors. In my experience, it's VERY rarely the wires and frequently the connectors that cause intermittent issues and consternation.
