Yeah, well I don't drive it hard I don't do mostly city driving, and I don't brake hard. I drive the car almost entirely on weekends. Judging from the responses on the bulletin board, I'd say Saab did something with the rotors post 1999, because everyone with a '99 claims that they put 50-60k on their rotors--which would be acceptable and what one would expect. Don't get me wrong, I am expecing to have to change the pads at 25-35K--that's expected--what I don't expect is that the rotors (which are much more expensive) be just as susceptible to wear to the point that they are a throwaway item. The good news is I called the Saab customer support 1-800 number, and they have reluctantly agreed to grant me a "one time" waiver of their policy and cover the change of the rotors. While that's great, it doesn't seem like they want to admit they have a problem with rotor wear on post-99 9-5 SE's. I am on a lease, and I don't see my self putting another 20-25k on the car before turning it in in August '03. That'll be the next sucker's problem. I must say, Sewell Saab in Dallas was the ones that told be to call the Saab line for redress--and they gave me a nice black '02 9-3 SE convertible loaner for the weekend--sweet--but despite all of this, I don't think I'm buying another one new until Saab does something about this rotor porblem. I mean on a car that lists out at $38k new you just expect a little more quality. SO, LESSONS LEARNED: for all of you who are experiencing similar wear, call the Saab 1-800 line to bitch about it maybe then they'll do something. Thanks for all of your input.

Brad
